One-to-one pickleball coaching in Singapore
The fastest route to technical change, with an AFP-appointed PPR Coach Developer who diagnoses the fault rather than prescribing another drill.
Nowhere to hide a technical fault.
In a group session a weak third shot can be covered up by a partner, a forgiving feed or simply not getting many of them. In a private lesson it comes up every few balls, which is exactly why private coaching changes technique faster than any other format.
Coach Gary runs private sessions the way he trains coaches: he watches what the ball does, works backwards to the contact point that caused it, and gives you the reason along with the correction. You should leave a session able to explain your own error, not just repeat a drill.
Most players start here. Some stay one-to-one permanently; others use private lessons to fix one specific thing before going back into group play or matchplay.
An hour with a purpose.
No two sessions are identical, but the shape is consistent: diagnose, isolate, rebuild, then put it under pressure before you leave.
Watch and diagnose
A short warm-up rally while Coach Gary watches contact point, paddle face and footwork. Most players arrive believing the problem is one thing and leave knowing it was another.
Isolate and rebuild
Fed repetitions on the one fault that is costing you the most, with the reason explained rather than just the instruction.
Put it under pressure
Live-ball patterns and point play so the change survives contact with a real rally, which is the only test that matters.

Complete beginners
Adults picking up a paddle for the first time, including players new to any racquet sport. First sessions cover grip, contact point and a repeatable dink before any match play.

“I brought Gary in because he does something most coaches can’t: he tells you why the ball did what it did. That is rarer than it sounds, and it is why he trains our coaches as well as our players.”

Private coaching, frequently asked.
How much is a private pickleball lesson in Singapore?
S$135 per hour ad hoc. Packages reduce that to S$125 per hour for 10 hours, S$120 for 30 hours and S$115 for 40 hours. Court fees at PickleChoo venues are separate.
Do I need my own paddle?
No. A paddle can be provided for a first session, though most players buy their own once they have a sense of what suits them. Coach Gary’s guide to choosing a paddle when you come from tennis covers weight, balance and core thickness.
How many sessions before I see a change?
A single technical fault usually shifts within two or three sessions. Making that change hold under match pressure takes longer, which is what the 10-hour package is sized for.
Can two of us share a private lesson?
Yes. Semi-private and small-group sessions are available and priced separately. Group and corporate sessions →
Will my DUPR rating improve?
Ratings follow results, not lessons. What coaching changes is the technique and shot selection that produce the results. DUPR explained →
What if it rains?
Sessions are on outdoor courts, so washed-out sessions are rescheduled rather than lost. Message +65 8962 8400 on the day if the weather looks uncertain.
